Proposed Trim Trail in Eaglesfield Park cancelled: Have your say

Following the public consultation meeting on 26 September where Greenwich Council invited members of the public to share their thoughts on the proposed trim trail in Eaglesfield Park, Parks and Open Spaces have shared the results of the questionnaire completely by the 31 attendees. 24 respondents (77%) supported the style of equipment, but 16 residents (52%) did not support the proposed location and 10 respondents (30%) felt Shrewsbury Park might be a better location for the trim trail. 7 respondents (23%) expressed concerns about it generating a hotspot for ASB and 5 respondents (16 %) considered Eaglesfield Park to be too small or unsuitable for a trim trail.

With marginal support for the proposed trim trail, the council are now inviting feedback from the community on how best the Olympic Legacy funds could best be used in Eaglesfield Park.

Friends of Eaglesfield Park asked their members in early December for their feedback and now it's your turn as members of the wider community to have your say.

Please let us know your thoughts on an alternative to the trim trail and what improvements you would like to see in the park. Ideas could include improving the children's play area with new equipment and improvements to the safety surfacing. Don't forget the focus of Olympic Legacy funding is to encourage people to get involved in sports and active recreation. The minimum budget is £7,000 and the maximum is £9,000. From the original budget of £22,000 for an outdoor gym/trim trail, £13,000 was allocated to a shortfall in the Friends of Eaglesfield Park pond restoration project.

Submit your ideas by email to the Principal Co-ordinators by Friday 6 January.
